Straw & Clay Wall Building (Traditional Moroccan Technique)

Interstice Garden is growing & this weekend, the community is invited to be part of its next chapter.

For the next few days, an experienced builder is at the garden sharing traditional Moroccan house-building techniques, using straw and clay to create natural walls.
This space is being lovingly built as a future home for community gatherings, shared meals & food grown directly from the garden.

They’re inviting anyone who feels called to join on Sunday to help with the wall-building and support the process.

🛠️ How you can get involved

You’re welcome to contribute in the way that suits you best:

• Digging & preparing the ground

• Building straw & clay walls

• Helping with food preparation

• Spending time supporting the space, animals (dogs & horse)

A commitment of around 3 hours assisting is ideal, but timing can be flexible depending on availability.

🕘 Suggested time options (flexible):

• 9:00 – 12:00, then share a meal together

• 14:00 – 17:00 with lunch together first

• 14:00 – 17:00 followed by tea & snacks

🍲 Food & refreshments

Refreshments will be provided, and there will be time to eat, rest & connect together — an important part of the process.

This is a beautiful opportunity to:

• Learn ancestral building techniques

• Support a community-led garden

• Share time, food, and simple work together
